FHSWNDWK - Node Work File form for FHSWIN

This form is used to display information about a Node Work File, used to print horizontal box charts. It is also used to create or re-create one of these work files. It is called from the FHSWRPGM form by clicking the "NodeFile" button after selecting an option to print an Ancestor or Descendant horizontal box chart or a Family Path chart.

The top portion of the form identifies the type of node work file (Ancestor, Descendant or Family Path) and the current file name. The "Browse" button can be used to locate a different, existing file.

The middle portion of the screen shows the "Base" records for the chart. If it is an Ancestor or Descendant chart then there is only one ID that is accessible. A form for a Family Path work file will allow you to enter two ID numbers, for the two individuals between which a "path of relationships" is to be found. A button labeled "<", to the right of each ID number field, can be used to call form FHSWLIST to display names from which a record can be selected.

The bottom part of the form shows "statistics" for the current node work file. (Provided that it is a valid work file, created using the current family file, and there have been no changes to the base record id(s) or the work file parameters.)

The lower right portion of the form shows values for parameters that are used when a node work file is created. These include the type of alignment that is to be used between related boxes in different rows of the chart, the maximum numbers of generations that will be searched for ancestors or descendants, and for family path work files, whether or not siblings are to be shown for individuals who occur on the relationship path joining the two entered IDs. The "Create File" button in the upper right portion of the form can be used to build or rebuild the work file, using the displayed base record(s) and parameters. The "statistics" will be redisplayed when creation is complete.

Clicking the "OKAY" or "Cancel" keys will close the form and return control to the calling form.
