This shows the appearance of the form after clicking the "Files" button for the "Family File Path":
The "Family File" group of datasets includes the "Name Dataset", "Address Dataset" and "Miscellaneous Dataset", which are the datasets that contain all the information that has been entered about the individuals in this Family File. (These datasets are the ones for which you will want to keep backup copies). The "Index File:" is a set of "record identifiers" for all individuals in the Family File, sorted in some sequence (surname, birth year, etc.). Of course, you may have multiple "index files" and they are easily created so there is no need to keep backup copies of them.
The "Stats" button expands the display to show information about the current Family File datasets. This attempts to open the Family File so it must be one that has previously been Initialized.
